Kēhke means tracks

The Tahltan mobile support team was originally formed out of an identified need by all 3 communities to have more localized influence on mental health and addiction services in the territory. So from the beginning this program was intended to be for people in the territory by people in the territory…

We felt it important to honor the Tahltan roots of this program and so after engagements with stakeholders, Pamela Labonte’s language program, language speakers and elders, the 3ngage team and MST landed on Kēhke as a new look for our team.

Tracking is something deeply intuitive to traditional peoples, wayfinding, exploring and breaking trails tin nē is learned at an early age.. So we felt that we are in a sense making new tracks kēhke and hoping folks follow us!

Therapy and personal growth is like making a new trail in the wild country of your life. We can make new paths in our minds, our hearts, our bodies and our spirits. Each tin nē requires different tools just like travelling up the mountain needs different tools than travelling by canoe or by horse..

Finally the three dots used to form the diacritic about the e in Kēhke in our logo represents the three communities where we live and work- Telegraph Creek- Iskut- Dease Lake
