RN, SEP® (Somatic Experiencing Practitioner)
Team Lead
Jennifer has been a clinical counsellor in the Northwest region for over 15 years, specializing in severe and persistent mental health and addiction issues. Recognizing trauma as a core factor in her clients' challenges, she pursued advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based therapy for trauma. Her expertise in EMDR has shaped her holistic approach, integrating the mind-body connection and the nervous system’s role in emotional regulation to effectively treat complex trauma and PTSD.
Jennifer has extensive experience working with remote and underserved communities, including the Nass Valley, where she provided culturally informed trauma care and developed mental health and addiction programs tailored to community needs. Committed to accessible and compassionate care, she continues to empower individuals on their healing journeys by combining evidence-based techniques with a trauma-informed approach.
Jennifer holds a Master of Education in Counselling and is pursuing a PhD in Psychotherapy and Counselling. As a part-time clinician, she offers in-person appointments one week every four weeks and provides virtual sessions when not in the territory.
